Everton could find themselves at front of queue after what Mohamed Ali-Cho has now admitted

Mohamed-Ali Cho left Everton in 2020 after spending five years in the academy.

Everton could not offer him the first-team assurances that he needed, so he made the decision to move to Angers on a free transfer.

Now, he is shining in Ligue 1 in France at Nice, as one of the brightest prospects in the European game after his Goodison Park exit.

Cho has been linked with a Premier League return in the past, and a new admission could accelerate a comeback to England.

Mohamed Ali-Cho wants Premier League return

Everton are in desperate need of a new striker, as their current options have struggled to find the back of the net, and they could be front of the queue for Ali-Cho.

He admitted in an interview that he would like to return to the English top-flight as he loved his time in the Blues’ youth system.

Speaking to Give Me Sport on 1 November, he said: “One hundred percent [I’d like to play in the Premier League]“.

“Like I said, when I was at Everton, the English system, I loved the way it was. That’s why I really enjoyed my academy time at Everton.

“The Premier League is a league that I’ve always loved, it’s one of my favourite leagues. I always watch Premier League games and I feel like the intensity over there is unmatched.”

Why Cho return would make sense for Everton

Everton have Beto and Thierno Barry at their disposal at the moment, but neither has cemented the number nine position.

The former has just one league goal this season, and the latter is yet to score his first goal since his summer move from Villarreal.

Cho notched three goals and four assists in 27 league matches last season but has dealt with injury issues this time around.

He has featured four times in the division, with no goals but two assists to his name, in a subdued start to the campaign.

However, at just 21, there is plenty of room for him to get better, and the Toffees will know all about his strengths and weaknesses already.

The eight-cap France Under-21 international is exactly the kind of player that Moyes and Co should be targeting, but they may face competition.

Whether he would be in their price range, remains to be seen, but a return to Finch Farm would surely appeal to him.
