Everton’s final Premier League position predicted by supercomputer ahead of Sunderland clash
Everton fans can be forgiven for casting an envious glance towards their Sunderland counterparts at the Stadium of Light on Sunday.
The Black Cats are seventh in the Premier League and can climb into second place should they defeat David Moyes’ side.
This is despite the fact Sunderland were a second-tier side just six months ago, showing what is capable with the right type of spending.
Everton themselves made a bright start to the season under Moyes, who is set for some unwanted personal history should things go against the Toffees, but they have since gone off the boil.
Indeed, Everton are six points behind Sunderland ahead of the showdown at the Stadium of Light.
But while Everton are currently 15th, things are predicted to get slightly better before the campaign concludes.

Everton predicted to climb Premier League table
Opta’s supercomputer makes Everton slight favourites to beat Sunderland, even if the Premier League table and form book suggests otherwise.
The same supercomputer also now predicts Everton to climb two spaces into 13th place before the season ends.
This comes on the back of this weekend’s results, with Everton having the chance to climb up to 12th if they do indeed win at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland, meanwhile, are predicted to drop seven places down to 14th in the table. They are projected to finish around one point lower than Everton.
While that may seem strange on the face of it, these calculations are based on plenty of different factors.
The same table suggests Everton will finish nine points clear of the relegation zone, which will of course be the absolute minimum target for the campaign.
David Moyes out to avoid a 20-year first with Everton
Moyes is disliked among the Sunderland fanbase for his part in their relegation in 2017.
The Mackems have even more reason to dislike the Scotsman, meanwhile, as Moyes has a good record against Sunderland.

Everton have lost their past two games, however, and are out to avoid losing three in a row under Moyes in the Premier League for the first time since October 2011.
Not since October 2005, meanwhile, have they lost three in a row in the competition without scoring a goal.
It goes without saying that an improved performance is required after the Tottenham loss last week, and hopefully that arrives in the North-East on Monday.
