Where are they now? The last Everton XI to beat Sunderland
Everton will face Sunderland for the first time in eight years on Monday evening.
Everton boss David Moyes has a great record against Sunderland in his time as a manager, but they cannot be complacent heading into the Stadium of Light contest.
Everton’s last win against Sunderland was in the League Cup in September 2017, which was the last time that the sides faced off.
Here, Goodison News looks at where the team that Ronald Koeman picked are now.

Who started when Everton last beat Sunderland
Maarten Stekelenburg started between the sticks for Everton, and he retired in 2023 after returning to Ajax.
The back four was Jonjoe Kenny, Ashley Williams, Mason Holgate, and Michael Keane, with only Keane still playing for the Blues.
Kenny is at PAOK in Greece, Holgate is with Qatari outfit Al-Gharafa, and Williams is a regular on BBC’s Match of the Day after his retirement.

Muhamed Besic, Tom Davies and Davy Klaassen started in midfield, and all three left Merseyside a long time ago.
The former now features for Spartak Subotica in Serbia, Davies is with Sheffield United, and the Dutchman is back at Ajax, where he started his career.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin left the Everton this summer, and he was part of a front three also containing Nikola Vlasic and Sandro Ramirez.
Calvert-Lewin is still in the top-flight with Leeds, Vlasic plays for Torino in Italy, and the latter is with Las Palmas in Spain’s second division.
Everton had Ademola Lookman on the bench
Ademola Lookman spent between 2017 and 2019 with the Blues, but he was benched for the clash with the Mackems.
He has gone on to achieve the most notable success in his career from the squad, winning the Europa League title with Atalanta in the 2023-24 campaign.
He was also named as African Footballer of the Year in 2024 for those exploits, beating the likes of Achraf Hakimi and Serhou Guirassy to the award.
Current Blues star Idrissa Gueye was also named amongst the substitutes when they last tasted victory over the Black Cats.
The likes of Joel Robles, Cuco Martina and Oumar Niasse were on the bench alongside Lookman and Gueye.
