Everton fans have absolutely no reason to watch Monday Night Football after Jamie Carragher admission
Jamie Carragher has managed to anger Everton fans ahead of their away clash at Sunderland.
Everton have travelled to face Sunderland on Monday with the hope of bouncing back to winning ways after consecutive defeats.
That won’t be easy as Everton prepare to face Sunderland, who have the chance to rise into the top two of the Premier League table once again.
Ahead of Everton’s Stadium of Light clash against Sunderland, Blues fans may have been keen to watch the Monday Night Football build-up, but Carragher has confirmed there is no point.
Speaking at the top of the show via Sky Sports Main Event on 3 November, he said: “It’ll be more of a Sunderland love-in than Everton. We’ve had Everton on Monday Night Football a few times and have them again soon.
“Where Sunderland find themselves in the table, it’ll be good to give a flavour of what’s been happening this season.”
Jamie Carragher not talking about Everton on Monday Night Football
Everton lost 3-0 to Tottenham last time out, so it will certainly be interesting to see how David Moyes and Co. bounce back.
The newly promoted outfit will represent a difficult opponent, given how they have begun the season with vigour.
That isn’t to say they make for a better talking point than the Toffees, who have plenty of star individuals worth discussing.
Carragher clearly doesn’t share the same point of view and has instead decided to focus mainly on the Black Cats and their recent success.
The Mackems are bound to be chuffed by this call from Sky Sports, but that won’t make the Everton faithful feel any better.
Everton right to feel disrespected by Sky Sports
It is bad enough for the Merseyside outfit that away fans have been made to complete a near 340-mile round trip on a Monday night.
The broadcasters made the call to change the fixture date with a view to having it on their Monday Night Football show, but clearly have no respect for the Toffees.
Even if they have already featured on the programme previously, there have been changes since then that could make for interesting conversations.
Instead, anyone tuning in will hear largely about Sunderland and how good they’ve been this season, as if that is news to anyone.
Everton fans would do well to steer clear of the show until kick-off and the Blues are allowed to feature fairly.
