Everton player ratings vs Sunderland: Jack Grealish shines again, 3/10 has shocker
Everton drew 1-1 with Sunderland on Monday night.
Sunderland welcomed Everton to the Stadium of Light and struggled against David Moyes’ side in the opening exchanges.
James Garner nearly scored before Iliman Ndiaye netted as he did against Crystal Palace, putting the Toffees 1-0 up in the process.
Theirno Barry then missed a huge chance for Everton before half-time, leaving the door open for Granit Xhaka to equalise within a minute of the interval.
The scoreline remained the same for the rest of the half, as the points were shared in SR5.
Now, Goodison News rates each player’s performance out of 10.

Jack Grealish back to his best vs Sunderland
Grealish was absent for Everton against Man City and failed to impress in the 3-0 defeat against Tottenham last time around.
That wasn’t the case against the Black Cats as the loan star looked fired up and keen to make a difference against the newly promoted side.
The 30-year-old maintained a 93 per cent pass accuracy and was able to create one chance for his teammates, while also striking the post with his only shot of the night.

Grealish also chipped in defensively by completing eight recoveries and winning three ground duels against a physical Sunderland side.
He didn’t get on the scoresheet, but certainly made the Merseyside outfit much improved on the night.
Theirno Barry missed huge chance vs Sunderland
Barry lost 10 duels against Sunderland, the most on the pitch, summing up his performance on the night.
The Frenchman only maintained a 50 per cent pass accuracy and failed to create a single chance despite being in the side to hold up play.
The striker missed one big chance as he rejected Grealish’s chance of an assist by lifting an effort over the bar from his pinpoint cross.
That was only made worse by his zero per cent ground duel success rate, as he failed to impress before being taken off and replaced by Beto on 57 minutes.
A poor day at the office for the summer signing, who really needs to find his feet soon or risk falling down the pecking order in L4.
