Micah Richards namedrops Everton as he hits back at Jamie Carragher and Liverpool

Jamie Carragher has once again been left with pie on his face over his past allegiances to Everton.

It is no secret that Carragher grew up as an Everton supporter, but quickly shifted to Liverpool after playing his entire career at Anfield.

Everton lost 2-1 against Liverpool earlier in the season, with revenge likely high on the menu in the second half of the campaign at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

While Carragher tried to blast Micah Richards for supporting Manchester City and Arsenal, it quickly left him scrambling for answers in the CBS studio.

Jamie Carragher freezes after Everton claim in Champions League coverage

Working for CBS Sports on Champions League night is often a host of laughs between Richards, Carragher and Thierry Henry.

It was Gareth Bale in the studio on Tuesday, however, with Carragher at Anfield to watch Liverpool beat Real Madrid 1-0.

Speaking to Dominik Szoboszlai after the game, Carragher called out Richards after trying hard to prove his support for the Reds like a child.

“Because I’m a huge Liverpool fan, when Liverpool win, we all win, don’t we?” he started.

“But that doesn’t happen with Micah, becuase he doesn’t support one team, he supports Manchester City and Arsenal. He’s one of them, he hasn’t got a real team.”

Richards wasn’t having it, though, and his response left Carragher frozen, something that the Everton fanbase will no doubt love to watch.

“Hold on,” Richards hit back.

“Coming from somebody who grew up an Everton fan, you’ve got some cheek. A nervous laugh there.”

What has Jamie Carragher recently said about Everton?

Carragher was on Monday Night Football for Sky Sports as Everton drew 1-1 with Sunderland.

After Thierno Barry missed a clear-cut chance yet again, Carragher made it very clear that a new striker is desperately needed for David Moyes.

That is very obvious, with Beto also struggling massively this season, the duo only scoring one goal between them so far in the Premier League.

With Fulham next up at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, this is a brilliant opportunity to get back to winning ways, hopefully through one of the strikers.
