Supercomputer predicts exactly where Everton will now finish after Sunderland draw

Everton are predicted to finish comfortably clear of the Premier League relegation zone after drawing to Sunderland on Monday.

David Moyes would’ve wanted to issue a strong response after Everton’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham last Sunday.

However, other than a splendid solo goal from Iliman Ndiaye, little went right in Everton’s 1-1 draw with Sunderland

But as it usually is at the top level, the Toffees will have a short time to mope before looking towards their next contest against Fulham on Saturday.

Everton predicted to climb one spot in Premier League

Everton have a 0.01 per cent chance of securing the Premier League title, according to Opta’s supercomputer, for those dreaming of such a fanciful scenario.

Given that the Toffees are currently 14th, ending the season 13th would be a small step up. But given the quality Moyes’ squad possesses, Everton fans will not be without ambition.

Indeed, with Jack Grealish performing well for Everton and a solid overall structure, supporters may want their side to aim a little higher this season.

Everton’s draw to Sunderland highlights one key issue

Sunderland dominated Everton at the Stadium of Light in the second half, with Everton failing to build on a positive opening half an hour.

Indeed, the Black Cats had 61 per cent possession and took nine more shots than Everton, according to Sofascore.

However, the Toffees were also not a match defensively, winning just 43 per cent of their tackles compared to Sunderland’s 71 per cent won.

Everton won 48 per cent of their ground duels, 51 per cent of their aerial duels and were dispossessed six times.

Meanwhile, Sunderland won 52 per cent of their ground duels, 49 per cent of their aerial duels and were dispossessed three times.

When playing away from home, there should always be the expectation that the opposition is going to dominate, albeit Sunderland were recently a Championship side.

This was something that Everton lacked on Monday and is a growing issue Moyes should look to address moving forward.
