Everton must take advantage of Dusan Vlahovic transfer conditions as likely wage demands emerge

Everton may be about to take advantage of Dusan Vlahovic’s transfer situation next summer.

The Serbia international is out of contract at Juventus at the end of the season, and that has prompted links over a possible move to the Premier League of late.

Everton sent a proposal to Vlahovic during the summer transfer window, but they had their initial efforts to strike a deal knocked back by the striker on that occasion.

The need for David Moyes’ side to add another striker to their ranks has grown drastically in recent weeks, and that could be about to result in them launching another attempt for the Juventus star in the near future.

Everton could afford Dusan Vlahovic’s likely wage demands

Vlahovic has been suggested as a potential option for Everton again of late, and his contract situation in Turin will understandably have plenty of clubs across Europe taking an interest in him.

The frontman already has six goals from 16 games across Serie A and the Champions League this season, but it looks increasingly likely that he will be leaving the Old Lady as a free agent next summer.

Vlahovic’s wages are a major concern for Juventus, and they are incapable of renewing his contract unless he accepts a pay cut, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The 25-year-old is understood to currently earn around £10.5million per year in Serie A, which equates to around the £200,000-a-week mark.

Ordinarily, that figure would be far beyond the capability of the Toffees, but with the commercial impact of the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and the fact that a transfer fee would not be needed, it may not necessarily be such an unrealistic sum.

Vlahovic is a top-quality striker, and the lack of outlay on a transfer fee could be used to increase the wages on offer in order to try and convince him to move to Merseyside.

The Toffees need to act immediately amid interest from elsewhere

Everton are clear admirers of Vlahovic, but unfortunately for them, there are plenty more clubs across Europe who share a similar view of his ability.

Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all weighing up a move for the striker, which will surely create a vital sense of urgency at Everton.

The Toffees will need to work hard to get ahead of the competition if they are to have any chance of beating clubs of that calibre to a deal, and that will likely mean drawing up another proposal months in advance of his contract actually expiring.

It will not be easy for The Friedkin Group to win the race for the former Fiorentina man, but they should surely try and take advantage of his imminent transfer situation, given their need for a new striker.
