Everton will be delighted as new striker target returns from injury ahead of January
Everton are expected to be active in the January transfer window, with David Moyes hoping to add goals to his front-line.
Thierno Barry and Beto have struggled for Everton this season, with neither player making a clear case to start up top for the Toffees.
The former was handed the start against Sunderland, but struggled to make the most of the opportunity in the 1-1 draw on 3 November.
Barry missed a brilliant chance against Sunderland, firing over from close range after he had been found by a delightful Jack Grealish cross.
But Moyes may start Barry against Fulham on Saturday, with the Scot hoping to encourage some consistency at the head of his attack.

Gabriel Jesus takes next step in injury return
Everton are interested in a move for Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus in January, with the forward set to be available on a cut-price deal.
The Gunners signed Viktor Gyokeres in the summer transfer window and are expected to have Kai Havertz back and available for selection after the international break.
| Thierno Barry | Premier League 2025-26 | Beto |

After a costly summer, decision-makers at the Emirates Stadium may well be open to sanctioning a cut-price deal for Jesus, who is on a significant contract after making the move from Manchester City in 2022.
Everton‘s main concern, however, would be the Brazilian’s injuries, which have plagued him in the last few years.
In January, Jesus suffered a tear to his anterior cruciate ligament, an injury that has kept him off the pitch for the 11 months since.
On Thursday, however, Arsenal shared a video on social media which showed that the 28-year-old has now returned to full training ahead of January.
What would Jesus bring to Everton?
Jesus is a very different striker from the current options at Everton.
The Brazilian operates like a false-nine, often popping up to receive the ball in deeper areas, and drifting to the wings to link up with the wingers.
That is not to say the striker avoids the duel; however, often beating his defender in the air.
But it is with the ball at his feet that Jesus really thrives. The forward was transformational when he arrived at Arsenal, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists across 26 appearances for the Gunners as they narrowly missed out on the title.

The 28-year-old could well have a similar effect at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but it is his injuries that decision-makers will be mulling over.
Even should Everton be able to agree a cut-price deal, Jesus’ wages will still make for a significant investment and not one that can be justified should the former Manchester City man end up spending most of his time on the injury table.
Either way, this is a great update ahead of that possible decision.
