Everton can boost efforts to land Kobbie Mainoo amid Man United absence update
Manchester United outcast Kobbie Mainoo has emerged as a target for Everton ahead of the January window.
Everton have been linked with Mainoo previously, but went on to sign the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in January.
David Moyes seemingly hasn’t been deterred, and Everton are still interested in signing Mainoo ahead of the winter transfer season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Everton also want to sign Franculino Dju from Midtjylland, but could now make the Man United midfielder their transfer priority moving forward.
Mainoo appears to have one step out the door at Old Trafford, with the Toffees now potentially able to step up their attempts to land the Englishman.

Kobbie Mainoo seemingly absent from Man United squad vs Tottenham
Mainoo has featured alongside Jordan Pickford for England recently and looked hugely accomplished as he did so.
That has added to the confusion surrounding his lack of gametime under Ruben Amorim since his introduction with the Red Devils.
The 20-year-old has featured across just 138 minutes across seven substitute appearances this season after failing to start a single league match so far.
It doesn’t look likely that this will change anytime soon, with the midfielder potentially set to miss out on Man United’s clash with Tottenham on Saturday.
Steven Railston reported on 7 November that Mainoo hasn’t been spotted in the travelling squad on their way to North London.
United look set to replace the Everton target with academy prospect Jack Fletcher, potentially pointing towards an exit in the coming weeks.
Everton can benefit from Mainoo uncertainty at Man United
There is a long line of sides awaiting updates on the future of the youngster after what has been a strange period of his career.
Mainoo was a regular under Erik ten Hag and scored an FA Cup final winner, before going on to start the EUROs final under Gareth Southgate.
That sort of experience could prove to be exactly what the Toffees need as they look to evolve their squad after a mixed start to the season.
With Mainoo looking likely to be absent against Tottenham, it could prove to be the perfect storm for Everton to sneak in and get to the front of the transfer queue.
Moyes would be able to offer him regular Premier League minutes, and at this stage, that could be enough to tempt him over to Merseyside.
