Everton told to chase Dusan Vlahovic transfer as ex-employee shares clear striker claim

Everton have been told to pursue a deal for Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic upon the expiry of his contract.

The Serbia international appears destined to leave the Old Lady at the end of the season, and there are several clubs that are currently eyeing up a move for him if he becomes a free agent next summer.

Everton have been suggested as a potential option for Vlahovic, who has reached double figures for league goals in each of the last three seasons in Serie A.

Competition for the striker’s signature is likely to be fierce if he does turn his back on Juventus, but David Moyes and Co. have been backed as a likely horse in the race.

Everton to keep tabs on Dusan Vlahovic

Vlahovic would be an exciting option for Everton, given the consistent goal record that he has behind him in Italy.

However, there appears to be no shortage of potential suitors for the frontman, with the likes of Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Barcelona all thought to be keen on signing him next summer.

The former Fiorentina man’s likely wage demands would be another concern, with even Juventus thought to be struggling to meet his expectations financially.

Nevertheless, ex-Everton scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that Vlahovic is a player that the Toffees should at least be trying to keep track of, with a view to eventually making a move.

“He (Vlahovic) is definitely worth a look,” King said.

“He’s going to be a free transfer. He’s certainly a player that Everton should be following at the very least.

“They’ve got two different types of players up front at the minute. (Thierno) Barry likes to run with it in the channels, whereas Beto is a big centre forward. They could do with another good front player, that’s for sure.”

xG shows the Toffees need striker solution in January

Vlahovic would undoubtedly be a huge signing for Everton if they were able to pull it off, however, they need to find a solution to their problems at the top of the pitch sooner than in the summer.

Beto and Thierno Barry have struggled badly since the start of this season, and this is highlighted by the fact that the Merseysiders are already underperforming their xG by over three goals after just 10 Premier League games.

Moyes’ men have found the back of the net just 10 times so far, when their xG indicates that they should actually have turned at least 13 of their chances into goals (Fotmob).

This lack of quality in the final third will continue to cost them if it isn’t addressed at the earliest possible opportunity, and with that in mind, they need to find another option in January.
