David Moyes praises ‘out of this world’ Jordan Pickford after what he just did for Everton
David Moyes must be counting his lucky stars that he has the experienced Jordan Pickford as his goalkeeper at Everton.
The 31-year-old recorded yet another clean sheet for the Toffees as they moved up to 13th in the Premier League table with a 2-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday.
Pickford has earned high praise over the years for single-handedly keeping Everton in the Premier League on multiple occasions.
After Everton’s resounding win over Fulham on 8 November, Moyes was keen to point out Pickford‘s brilliant distribution in the match.

Jordan Pickford’s distribution on another level vs Fulham
Pickford is a cult-hero at Everton, having been at the club since 2017 following a £30m move from Sunderland.
Against Fulham, he was assured when called upon, whilst also offering a calming presence with the ball at his feet.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 10 November, Moyes had nothing but good things to say about his goalkeeper.
He said: “By the way, Pickford’s distribution was out of this world. He had a couple of sidewinders that were incredibly good, and he’s a fantastic kicker in general.
“He can have moments where he’s a bit wild and can be a bit free with it, but he made a couple of top saves for us against Fulham.”
| Stat | Jordan Pickford |
| Saves | 4 |
| Expected goals prevented | 0.91 |
| Recoveries | 9 |
| Pass accuracy | 25/36 (69%) |
| Accurate long balls | 5/15 (33%) |
Everton‘s goalkeeper has been a consistent performer for several seasons now, yet he has never been grouped amongst the elite goalkeepers in world football.
His penalty save against Brighton in the first match at the Hill Dickinson Stadium typified everything that his career has been about: coming up with big moments when it has mattered most.
On 16 October, Pickford signed a new Everton deal that will keep him in Merseyside until June 2029, and Moyes is thrilled he has managed to keep his number one in L4.
Due to the fact that Everton have never been challenging for European football, Pickford probably deserves more recognition for his performances.

Jordan Pickford never gets the widespread praise he deserves
Pickford made England history against Wales on 9 October by surpassing Gordon Banks and becoming the first Three Lions goalkeeper to keep eight consecutive clean sheets.
Despite flourishing on the international stage, the 31-year-old has never been spoken about as one of the best goalkeepers in the league.
In reality, his impact at Everton has been monumental, and his influence on the club as a whole surpasses the majority of the goalkeepers who are currently playing in the top flight.
Pickford is aiming to break his Premier League record of 14 clean sheets that was set in 2018-19, and with three on the board already, there is great hope that he can create some personal history under Moyes this season.
