Everton fans won’t believe Yerry Mina’s latest antics, it was impossible at Goodison Park

Yerry Mina is thriving in Serie A in ways Everton supporters never saw at Goodison Park.

Everton signed Mina for £27.8million in 2018, according to Sky Sports, as one of the players brought in during Ronald Koeman’s unsuccessful attempt to rebuild the squad on Merseyside.

Mina was dubbed a “transfer failure” after he failed to have a significant impact at Goodison Park following a big-money move from Barcelona.

Following five seasons at the Blues, Mina departed Everton following the expiration of his contract in June 2023, and he’s since enjoyed time in Italy’s top flight with both Fiorentina and now Cagliari.

Footage emerging from Italy will be sure to leave Evertonians absolutely stunned.

Yerry Mina’s performance forced striker Alvaro Morata to ask for his own substitution

Mina joined Everton after impressive World Cup 2018 performances with Colombia.

Now at Cagliari, during their match against Como in the Serie A on Saturday, Mina’s performance was so good that it frustrated former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata to signal for his own substitution.

It seemed like the Spaniard could have been joking at first, but Morata was replaced moments later by his head coach, Cesc Fabregas, as footage via X shows.

Mina has quietly been a success since leaving Everton, which may raise an intriguing question.

Indeed, seeing the centre-back bully a striker such as Morata out of the game would almost be an impossibility during his Goodison days.

Did Everton make the right decision with Mina?

Everton are now based on the foundation of a strong defence with David Moyes back at the club.

Moyes’ philosophy proves that defenders are improved under him, as the head coach led West Ham to European glory on the strength of a strong back line.

There is an argument to say that Mina could have been a success under Moyes’ management.

However, Everton already had James Tarkowski when they signed him in July 2022, who has only gone from strength to strength and has easily surpassed Mina as a Blue.

Blues fans won’t be too sorry that Mina isn’t at the club anymore, as Tarkowski continues to create history at Everton.
