Darren Bent names Everton as ideal destination for Thomas Tuchel outcast

Darren Bent believes that Everton is the ideal destination for Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Everton are one of four Premier League clubs that want to sign Lewis-Skelly after concerns over his gametime emerged.

Thomas Tuchel sent a message to the 19-year-old, claiming that he needs to be playing more regularly if he is to make his England squad and add to his previous six caps.

The young defender has featured for just 86 minutes in the Premier League, and may seek an Emirates Stadium exit in January.

What did Bent say about Everton and Myles Lewis-Skelly?

Everton are in desperate need of a left-back, with Vitalii Mykolenko and Adam Aznou failing to impress for the Toffees.

Former Premier League striker, Bent, who is an Arsenal fan, named the Blues as the best destination for Lewis-Skelly.

Andy Goldstein asked on talkSPORT on 12 November (18:23pm), saying: “Everton, Fulham, West Ham and Nottingham Forest are monitoring Myles Lewis-Skelly’s situation, after Thomas Tuchel said he needs more minutes to be considered for his squad.

“If you are him, where are you going?”

Bent replied, saying: “Probably Everton.”

Tuchel decision may benefit Everton

Everton supporters have plenty of reason to be angry with Tuchel as he refuses to select Jack Grealish despite his brilliant form for their team.

However, his decision may come to benefit David Moyes and Co. as surely there is no way that Lewis-Skelly would look to leave the Gunners if the ex-Chelsea manager had selected him.

The fact that Tuchel has said he needs to play more football, and he is not getting minutes in North London could lead to a move to Merseyside.

Arsenal are unlikely to allow the England international to leave on a permanent deal, given how highly that he is rated, but it would solve the Toffees’ issues if he joined on loan.

That would benefit all parties, as he would play every week, and surely then work his way back into Tuchel’s plans and be a better player when he returns to Mikel Arteta’s side.

It remains to be seen whether the L3 outfit can arrange a deal that works for the league leaders, but it is an exciting prospect.
