Everton news round-up: David Moyes eyes priority striker transfer as Franculino Dju update drops

Everton are already preparing for the upcoming January transfer window, with a new striker vital.

So far this season, despite numerous chances being created, Everton’s strikers have been woeful, with Thierno Barry yet to score for the Toffees.

Therefore, numerous attackers have been linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium in order to solve this issue.

Now, with the winter window approaching, rumours are starting to heat up.

As a result, Goodison News has provided all the latest news from the past 24 hours.

Ivan Toney and Joshua Zirkzee high on Everton’s priority list

Given their attacking woes, Everton are looking at numerous strikers.

According to Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports, David Moyes is looking at potentially bringing Ivan Tony or Joshua Zirkzee to Everton.

The duo are high up on the Toffees’ priority list, with the Scotsman targeting a striker who is different to Beto and Barry.

Gabriel Jesus is also rumoured. However, a move for the Arsenal star is deemed unlikely.

Mike Tullberg: Franculino Dju is staying at FC Midtjylland until the end of the season

Another played linked to Everton is Franculino Dju.

The striker has been in fine form for FC Midtjylland, netting 19 goals already this season and becoming one of the most promising players in Europe.

Everton were believed to have sent scouts to watch Dju, and they were no doubt eyeing a potential move.

However, this has now taken a blow, with FC Midtjylland boss Mike Tullberg confirming that Dju is not leaving mid-season.

When asked if Dju was staying until the end of the season, the FC Midtjylland manager said: “Yes, he is.”

Jarrad Branthwaite injury return to force Michael Keane out

Elsewhere on the pitch, Moyes faces another dilemma.

Michael Keane has been a regular for the Toffees this season due to Jarrad Branthwaite’s injury.

However, the injured star will likely take his place back in the starting XI once he returns, forcing Keane out.

Now, Bryan King believes that Keane will likely depart Everton in the summer when his contract expires.

“I think Keane will be leaving for free,” King said.

“I could maybe see him going to back to Burnley. He’ll certainly get another club that’s for sure, probably in the Premier League.

“I think there’d be a few clubs in the Premier League and Championship who would be looking at him. He’s an old-fashioned centre-half who’s a little bit off the pace now for me.

“Hopefully Branthwaite can get back fit and start playing consistently, and that will open the door for Keane to leave, I would imagine.”
