Everton to sit up and take notice after what David Ornstein’s said about Jarrad Branthwaite
Everton will surely have their guard up in January after what David Ornstein has just said about Jarrad Branthwaite.
The Toffees star has become one of the Premier League’s most promising young defenders in recent years, and he would have played a key role for them this season were it not for his latest injury issue.
Branthwaite is yet to feature for Everton in competitive action this term, and he has recently undergone surgery to try and correct the hamstring problem that he is suffering from for good.
David Moyes’ men have badly missed the quality that the 23-year-old provides so far this season, and the alarm bells will surely be ringing after this claim ahead of January.

David Ornstein suggests Tottenham move for Jarrad Branthwaite
Branthwaite signed a new long-term contract at Everton in the summer, in what was a crucial piece of business from the Merseysiders.
They tied their star man down to a new five-year deal, which provides them with some welcome security from the transfer interest that will inevitably arise again when he returns to full fitness.
However, despite that security, they will surely be forced to sit up and take notice in the aftermath of Ornstein’s latest claim regarding Tottenham in the January transfer window.
The transfer specialist was interviewed for TikTok by Planet Football, and he named Branthwaite as an ideal target for the North Londoners this winter.
“They (Spurs) have been looking to upgrade in that defensive department,” the journalist said when explaining his call.
“They’ve looked at him. He’s somebody who has been linked with a move away from Everton, even though he signed a new contract. I guess he’s one to watch in the future for many of the top clubs.”

Everton must set £80m pricetag for Jarrad Branthwaite
It has been suggested previously that it would take a bid of £80million for Everton to sell Branthwaite, and that is surely the sort of figure that they will need to demand for the defender in the future.
The youngster has gone from strength to strength since his £1m arrival from hometown club Carlisle United for £1m back in 2020, and the Toffees will surely be set for an eye-watering profit on that initial investment whenever he does ultimately move on.
Everyone at the Hill Dickinson Stadium will hope for that day to come a long way down the line, and a pricetag of £80m would surely go a long way towards fighting off the ‘big six,’ given the concerns that have arisen surrounding his fitness of late.
Everton will hope that Branthwaite can be a key part of their team for years to come, and while there is seemingly little interest from elsewhere at the moment, they must certainly keep Ornstein’s suggestion in mind.
