Carlos Alcaraz days numbered at Everton as contact made for January transfer

Carlos Alcaraz definitely would’ve expected to play a much more significant role at Everton this season.

The Toffees made the Argentine midfielder’s loan move from Flamengo permanent in the summer for around £12.6million, but he’s struggled to secure his place in the starting lineup.

Alcaraz has been statistically poor in the Premier League in the current campaign, and it isn’t surprising that he’s struggled for regular minutes at the Blues.

David Moyes has relied on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the number 10 position, with the former Chelsea ace justifying his place in the team after some impressive displays.

Everton prepare for Carlos Alcaraz exit with Allan approach

Palmeiras midfielder Allan has emerged as a target for Moyes in the winter transfer window, with the Toffees enquiring about his availability, according to AS.

The news outlet reports on 11 November that the Brazilian outfit rejected two offers for the 21-year-old in the summer, but serious interest has once again emerged from Premier League clubs like the Blues.

If the Merseyside outfit are able to get a deal over the line for the versatile youngster, who can play in the middle of the park and out wide, that would leave Alcaraz with a lot to think about his future in L4.

The former Southampton ace appears to have a similar player profile to Allan, and he may see the Brazilian national’s arrival as Moyes’ move to replace him.

Alcaraz has started just twice in the Premier League this season, and has started on the bench for the Toffees in the last three league matches.

With the 22-year-old falling down the pecking order at the Blues, it wouldn’t be surprising to see his days numbered at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

David Moyes should have one demand from Carlos Alcaraz

Alcaraz can’t start to moan about his situation under Moyes, with the exit door certainly wide open for anyone who doesn’t want to fight for their place in L4.

Everton don’t have the biggest of squads this season, but the Scottish manager has relied on a core group of players to get results.

James Garner and Idrissa Gueye have been influential in the middle of the park, while Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish have been creative forces out wide, leaving Alcaraz with a big challenge at the Merseyside outfit.

Although Moyes could potentially ask the Argentine midfielder to show that he can replace Gueye, whose contract expires next summer, which may lead to more minutes for the ex-Flamengo star.
