Everton backed to seal Kobbie Mainoo loan deal as Ruben Amorim bust-up speculated at Man United
Everton signing Manchester United star Kobbie Mainoo is a possibility that cannot be “dismissed” in the January transfer window.
The England international has fallen badly out of favour with Ruben Amorim, and that has prompted several clubs around the Premier League to be linked with a move for him this winter.
Everton are among those who are interested in Mainoo, who has been left shocked at the lack of gametime that he has received so far this season.
The midfielder has managed just 138 minutes of league action so far this term, but David Moyes and Co. could be about to provide the perfect solution for that in the coming months.

Everton to use Man United connection to seal Kobbie Mainoo loan
Everton were also briefly linked with Mainoo in the summer, and their hopes of potentially landing him in January received a boost at the weekend.
The 20-year-old was left out of United’s matchday squad for their 2-2 draw away at Tottenham, and he now hasn’t played a single minute of football since his team’s win over Brighton on 25 October.
Mainoo enjoyed a rapid rise in the 2023-24 campaign, which saw him net the winner in an FA Cup final and start in the final of Euro 2024, but those exploits are now a distant memory at Old Trafford.
With that in mind, ex-Everton scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that the possibility of his former employers making a move for the starlet in January cannot be ruled out, and points to the connection between the two clubs that has emerged over the years.
“Everton and Manchester United have always had close contact with players in the past,” King said.
“It would probably be a loan deal anyway, and I wouldn’t dismiss the fact that Everton could be a decent option for Mainoo.
“He’s a decent player, and I can’t understand why he isn’t in the Manchester United team. That seems to be a personal thing between him and the manager. He’s got the ability.

“I think he’d get plenty of games at Everton. Especially with (Idrissa) Gueye likely going to AFCON.”
Kobbie Mainoo would be a better midfield option than Allan
Everton are also chasing a move for Palmeiras midfielder Allan ahead of the January window, as they are part of a queue of Premier League sides who are chasing his signature.
The 21-year-old is expected to become the latest star from the glistening Palmeiras production line, but for now at least, there can be no doubt that Mainoo would be the better option at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
He has already proven that he is a hugely effective Premier League player, whereas Everton would be taking a gamble on Allan coming in and hitting the ground running immediately.
There is no doubting the quality that Mainoo provides, and he could be an ideal fit for Moyes’ midfield.
