Alan Myers reveals Gabriel Jesus and Joshua Zirkzee transfer reality at Everton

Everton may have the funds to sign Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus and Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee in the winter transfer window.

Former Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers expects the two attackers to want a club with European football if they move in January, but the Toffees could potentially compete financially for their signatures if possible.

Jesus and Zirkzee are wanted at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as the Blues prepare to strengthen their attack in the coming weeks.

Beto has let David Moyes down this season, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Merseyside outfit make a push to sign a quality number nine soon.

Everton likely to miss out on Gabriel Jesus and Joshua Zirkzee transfer

While Myers doesn’t believe finances will be an issue for the Toffee, he still doesn’t think Jesus or Zirkzee will sign for them

The journalist believes the Blues will spend money at the turn of the year, but the Arsenal and Man United forwards’ arrival at the Hill Dickinson Stadium has been ruled out.

Fans in L4 won’t be too bothered if they miss out on the two attackers, given the Brazil international’s injury record and the Dutchman’s struggles in the Premier League.

Myers wrote in Everton.News on 17 November: “Arsenal’s Jesus and Man United’s Zirkzee have both been linked with a move to the Hill Dickinson stadium too. Personally, I don’t see either happening, but I don’t see money being the reason. I do expect Everton to spend.”

“I think both players would look to join a club with European football, but if a deal were possible, I’m sure the funds would be there.”

Ivan Toney is another name Moyes has his eyes on, but it remains to be seen whether the Al-Ahli striker will leave his lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia.

David Moyes has another transfer priority at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Moyes could be without Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gueye during AFCON, which starts on 21 December and ends on 18 January.

While Everton have adequate cover on the right-wing with Tyler Dibling and Dwight McNeil, the midfield could definitely use some reinforcements.

James Garner has often played as a full-back this season, but Moyes will certainly be pleased with Tim Iroegbunam’s recent displays.

James Ward-Prowse has been linked with a temporary switch to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but it remains to be seen who the Blues will sign in January.
