Jack Grealish has every reason to be angry at Everton teammates amid telling reveal
From the outside looking in, many could be forgiven for thinking Jack Grealish has gone off the boil for Everton in recent weeks.
The England international went from registering four assists in his first three Premier League appearances for Everton to no assists in the next seven – or eight in all competitions.
Indeed, the only goal involvement of any sort since the end of August was his strike in Everton’s 2-1 win against Crystal Palace on 5 October.
That drop-off has seen Wayne Rooney brutally tell Grealish to forget any World Cup plans, with Thomas Tuchel again overlooking the on-loan Manchester City ace again this month.
But a closer look at the figures suggest Grealish is doing just as much as before, but it is those around him who are failing to fulfil their half of the bargain.
Jack Grealish continuing to create chances aplenty for Everton
Grealish created Everton history earlier this season when becoming the first Toffee to register two assists in back-to-back Premier League matches.
It is fair to say Grealish was all the rage back then, with those four assists coming from just five chances created in his first three Everton league outings.
That earned him the Premier League Player of the Month award for August, but no assists have followed since then.
However, as per Opta, Grealish has created 19 further chances in his seven league games since August, none of which have been converted.
That is 19 times Grealish has teed up a teammate, only for them to spurn the opportunity to stick the ball in the back of the net.
In fact, Grealish is still going about his business at a high level, having become the first player in the Premier League this season to register four assists and create 20+ chances.

Grealish is a level above for Everton right now and is in desperate need of strikers who can convert chances, which is becoming a serious issue for David Moyes.
And Grealish will be looking specifically at Thierno Barry and Beto, who have one Premier League goal in 22 combined Premier League appearances this season.
Thierno Barry and Beto profligacy an issue for Everton
As per data via Sofascore, two of those 19 chances created by Grealish are defined as “big chances” – ones you would normally expect a player to put away.
| Stat | Jack Grealish |
| Apearances | 10 |
| Goals | 1 |
| Assists | 4 |
| Chances created | 24 |
| Pass accuracy | 88% |
Michael Keane missed one of those against Aston Villa, while Barry wasted his one against Sunderland, with that proving a big point in the game.
Had those chances been converted, as they should have, Grealish would be on six assists for the season, which would put him outright top of the charts.
Indeed, as per FBref, Grealish has registered an expected assists (xA) figure of 3.2 so far this season, which only Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku (3.7) can better.
Grealish’s main focus will be on helping Everton achieve success this season – whatever that may be – and earn a place in England’s World Cup squad.
That is very much still achievable, but he needs far more from the likes of Barry, Beto and Co. if he is to do so.
