Everton prepare to smash transfer record for Scott McTominay as David Moyes love revealed
Everton are readying a bid for Napoli’s Scott McTominay in a deal that would break the Toffees’ transfer record.
David Moyes wants to improve his midfield, which he sees as a key area for Everton to achieve success this season.
Roundhouse Capital Holdings Limited revealed a £107m raise in funds for Everton on Monday, and McTominay could be the first use of the cash boost.
The January transfer window is going to be crucial for the Blues, but things seem to already be progressing well for the Scottish international.

Scott McTominay has admirers at Everton
Iliman Ndiaye has the quality to take Everton to new heights, but the Toffees are still in need of that extra boost of star power.
A striker is needed in January to complete Everton’s attack, and if McTominay came to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, the Toffees’ midfield would be one of the best in the Premier League.
- McTominay grabbed 16 goal contributions for Napoli during the 2024-25 campaign
- He helped his side win Serie A last season
- McTominay already has four goals this season, with two coming in the Champions League
According to Fichajes, Everton are preparing a multi-million offer to sign McTominay, as Napoli are said to seek around £61.5m for their star.
It’s reported that the 2024-25 Serie A MVP is seen as a “strategic” figure on Merseyside, and Moyes appreciates McTominay’s box-to-box ability.

The deal is becoming increasingly likely following the latest developments regarding Everton’s majority shareholders.
The proposed move is set to smash the Toffees’ current transfer record of £50m in Richarlison.

McTominay is David Moyes’ perfect type of midfielder
Everton have been linked with McTominay in 2024, before he made his big move from Manchester United to Italy.
The Scot was not seen as a world-class midfielder at the time, and left England to make a real name for himself.
Now, McTominay would be Moyes’ ideal player in the heart of midfield, who could do both sides of the game at a top level.
He is a threat from set-pieces and arriving late in the box, while possessing the ability to break up opposition attacks too.
If Everton were able to land McTominay, it would be the biggest show of intent since the Friedkin Group took over, and the whole Premier League would take notice.
