Everton set to claim bizarre record in history after new Premier League announcement
The Premier League have announced that Everton’s home fixture against Leeds United has been moved to another Monday.
David Moyes will hope his team are in a stronger position by then, with Everton set to face Manchester United on 24 November.
It has been a season of ups and downs for the Scots’ side so far, but victory before the international break looked to get the Toffees back on track.
Everton beat Fulham 2-0 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Idrissa Gana Gueye and Michael Keane netting in each half to hand the Blues three points.
Manchester United are the favourites to beat Everton; however, with Ruben Amorim’s side unbeaten in their last five Premier League games.

Everton to make history after Premier League announcement
The Premier League has not made itself popular with its decisions over TV scheduling at times this season, with the Leeds game now set for 26 January.
Announcements for fixtures over the Christmas period were delayed for far too long, sparking anger among fans attempting to sort travel plans.
| Everton fixtures | Date |
| Manchester United (A) | 24 Nov |
| Newcastle United (H) | 29 Nov |
| Bournemouth (A) | 2 Dec |
| Nottingham Forest (H) | 6 Dec |
| Chelsea (A) | 13 Dec |
Eventually, the Premier League announced that just one game would be played on Boxing Day – Newcastle United’s trip to take on Manchester United.
Everton had been down to take on Burnley, a game which will now take place with six other fixtures on 27 December.
Now, with the Premier League announcing that Everton will host Leeds on Monday, 26 January, it appears that the Toffees are set to mark some league history.
According to EFC Statto, the clash at the Hill Dickinson Stadium will be the Toffees’ fifth Monday night kick-off of the campaign, the most they have had in a league season, ever.
In the 2021-22 season, Everton had four Monday night games – their previous most in a single campaign.
Everton yet to mark a Monday night with victory this season
Monday’s game will be Everton’s fourth of the season, with the previous three ending in disappointment.
It was a Monday night against Leeds that kicked off the campaign, with the Toffees falling to a late Lukas Nmecha penalty, which had been awarded in controversial circumstances at Elland Road.
The second would come at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Everton going ahead against West Ham before Jarrod Bowen equalised for the visitors.
And lastly was the trip to Sunderland, when the Blues again lost their lead and were forced to settle for just a point.
Moyes will hope to turn those two points from three games into five from four when Everton travel to Manchester United on Monday.
