Michael Keane

Keane has been hailed for his Everton performances this season, with the defender stepping in for the injured Jarrad Branthwaite to superb effect.

The defender had looked set to leave the Toffees in the summer, but an agreement on a new contract was eventually found.

The 32-year-old signed for Everton from Burnley in 2017, joining in a deal worth around £30million.

In the years since, the defender has made 243 appearances and was reunited with his former defensive partner at Burnley, James Tarkowski.

Keane began his career at Manchester United, coming through the academy and spending several years out on loan.

The former England international would ultimately make just five appearances for the Red Devils before leaving.

Joshua King

Joshua King spent very brief spells at both Everton and Manchester United. The striker was spotted by the Red Devils and signed from Norwegian team Valarenga in 2008.

Similarly to Keane, King would spend many years out on loan, making just two appearances for Manchester United before joining Blackburn in 2013.

It would be at Bournemouth where he found his feet, scoring 53 goals across 184 appearances for the Cherries.

King would join Everton in 2021, but featured in just 11 games and failed to score before he departed.

The 33-year-old is now in the Saudi Pro League and loving life, having scored 10 goals already this season.

Mark Hughes

Mark Hughes is remembered for many things – winning the Premier League twice with Manchester United, winning the FA Cup four times, and later managing in the top-flight.

But he is not exactly remembered for his time at Everton. Hughes had made a massive 459 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 161 goals, before he left for Chelsea.

In the final years of his career, the Welshman would join Everton on a free transfer after leaving Southampton, but the move would last just seven months.

The legendary striker would make 18 appearances for the Toffees in that time, scoring just once, against Watford.
