David Moyes spotted going ‘absolutely mad’ at Everton attacker in unseen Old Trafford scenes
Danny Murphy spotted David Moyes “going absolutely mad” at Thierno Barry during Everton’s 1-0 victory at Manchester United.
Everton showed superb character at Old Trafford in Monday’s contest after Idrissa Gana Gueye was sent off for slapping Michael Keane.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall superbly fired Everton ahead just before the half-hour mark and Everton defended brilliantly with 10 men to pick up a first win at Old Trafford since 2013.
Everton’s 1-0 win against Man United makes them the first visiting team with 10 men to win at the famous ground in Premier League history.
David Moyes fumes at Everton forward Thierno Barry
The incident involving Gueye and Keane will inevitably grab all the headlines in the aftermath of this contest.
Gary Neville was quick to have his say on Gueye’s red card and many more will do likewise. Rightly so, considering just how rare an occurrence it was.
Moyes did not appear to react to that incident – at least not in the view of the cameras – but he was spotted going mad at Everton forward Barry later in the first half.
While the Sky cameras did not pick it up, Murphy – commentating live on the game for talkSPORT – pointed out Moyes’ unhappiness after Barry lost possession near the halfway line.
“David Moyes is going absolutely mad down there at Barry losing the ball,” Murphy said. “It was a nice, easy ball but he miscontrolled it. Moyes is fuming at him and rightly so – he has to do better.”

Barry played 80 minutes at Old Trafford and, while Moyes may have been angered by that one passage of play, he was otherwise superb.
Barry’s superb display vs Man United in numbers
Moyes made a surprising call with his Everton XI, which included a returning Seamus Coleman before he went off injured early on.

Barry was given the nod up top and was otherwise superb, as highlighted by the Sofascore graphic above.
He won 14 of his 23 aerial duels and constantly gave his side an out-ball as they held on to their slender advantage.
Barry also chipped in with a couple of clearances in what was a brilliant defensive display. More goals are certainly needed from the attacker, but this was a display Moyes would have been proud of – one moment aside.
