Idrissa Gueye shameful, 8/10 sends message to Thomas Tuchel – Everton player ratings vs Man United

Everton picked up a massive 1-0 win away to Man United on Monday.

Off the back of Everton’s 2-0 win at home to Fulham, the Toffees were back on the road to Old Trafford, where Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s strike earned them all three points.

The Toffees were fighting a losing battle from the start, with Idrissa Gana Gueye sent off in the first 15 minutes for slapping his own teammate, Michael Keane.

Despite their one-man disadvantage, the Toffees took the lead through Dewsbury-Hall’s wonderstrike in the 29th minute, assisted by James Garner.

His strike proved to be the only goal of the game at Old Trafford, with the Toffees walking away with their fifth win of the season.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall runs the show for Everton

After Guey’s red card, Everton really needed their midfield to step up another level, and Dewsbury-Hall certainly did.

Just 15 minutes after the Toffees were reduced to ten men, he produced a moment of magic to give his side the lead, having contributed in all areas of the pitch.

His passing was usually crisp, and he wasn’t afraid to help out defensively, despite that not typically being his game.

Thomas Tuchel was watching on from the stands, and his continued form since his move to Merseyside will have certainly given the England boss food for thought, who will have also left Old Trafford impressed with Jordan Pickford’s display.

Idrissa Gueye should be ashamed

Whether Gueye’s red card against Man United was soft or not, you simply can’t excuse the childish behaviour that was on show from the 36-year-old.

It was an act of petulance that you would be disappointed to see from a teenager, let alone someone who has been there and done it as Gueye has.

David Moyes will no doubt have some harsh words for his midfielder, who hadn’t exactly started the game overly well.

Via Sofascore, Gueye had already given the ball away on three occasions before his dismissal, on a night that he certainly won’t forget.
