Shay Given shares Jack Grealish theory on Match of the Day every Everton fan will agree with

Jack Grealish is living up to his super reputation at Everton after his goal against Bournemouth on Tuesday.

David Moyes got the better of Andoni Iralola at the Vitality Stadium on 2 December, with the Manchester City loanee scoring in the Toffees’ 1-0 victory.

Grealish has been a game-changing signing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the Blues now sitting just two points behind fifth-place Crystal Palace.

The 30-year-old has now scored two goals and provided four assists in the Premier League since joining the Merseyside outfit in the summer, but his numbers could arguably have been better.

Everton lack quality to support Jack Grealish

Grealish may have had more assists had he had better players around him at the Toffees, Shay Given says.

Most fans in L4 will undoubtedly agree with the former goalkeeper’s assessment, as Beto and Thierno Barry have failed to convert their chances this season.

Supporters will surely nod their heads in agreement as the Blues could potentially get more out of the Man City loanee with more quality in their front line.

Speaking on Match of the Day on 3 December, Given said: “It’s an important goal for Jack, his second of the season, four assists. I think he would have more assists if he had a few more better players around him. Beto and Barry are struggling to find the back of the net.”

While Grealish’s form may not get him a ticket to the 2026 World Cup, he’s certainly doing all he can to ensure the Merseyside outfit have a successful campaign.

With ambitions running high in L4 and European qualification in sight, better things could undoubtedly be on the horizon for Moyes and his team.

Jack Grealish permanent transfer obstacle emerges

While The Friedkin Group would be wise to buy Grealish from Man City, it will ultimately depend on the forward.

Everton can trigger the £50million option to sign the England international permanently, but the final decision rests with him.

The winger may feel like he’s good enough to play Champions League football, and he’s certainly proven that, leaving the Toffees in potentially a tough spot.

While Grealish has immense admiration for Moyes, it remains to be seen whether that will be enough for him to continue at the Hill Dickinson Stadium beyond this season.
