PGMOL complaint to be filed after Everton incident leaves Nottingham Forest ‘furious’

Nottingham Forest are set to file a complaint to the PGMOL as they believe James Tarkowski should have been sent off in Everton’s 3-0 win.

In the end, it was a simple victory for David Moyes’ side as they cruised to three points at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Multiple Everton players were outstanding against Nottingham Forest as they moved up to fifth in the Premier League table.

However, the match could have been completely different if Sean Dyche’s side had their way, with the visitors adamant that Tarkowski should have been sent off for an off-the-ball incident.

Nottingham Forest furious that James Tarkowski wasn’t sent off vs Everton

In the 11th minute, both Tarkowski and Dan Ndoye had a coming together.

The Everton centre-back barged into the Forest star in an incident that wasn’t spotted by the referee at the time.

VAR also did not intervene, with Tarkowski perhaps lucky not to be sanctioned in Everton’s win.

However, Nottingham Forest remain adamant that it was violent conduct, with the East Midlands club’s bosses reportedly “furious”.

Now, according to Rob Dorsett via X on 6 December, the Reds are now set to file a complaint to the PGMOL, wanting an explanation.

Sean Dyche: Tarkowski decision strange

Dyche faced Everton for the first time since being sacked at the start of 2025, but it was an awful day for the former Toffees boss.

With Forest amidst a relegation battle, the result has now left them 17th in the table with West Ham in 18th having a game in hand.

Therefore, looking back at the game, Dyche was puzzled at how no action was taken against Tarkowski in what could have been a critical point in the match.

He told BBC Sport on 6 December: “Also James Tarkowski barges a player in the back and nothing is done about it, which is a strange decision. But they did look like a team that’s moving to fifth in the Premier League table.”
