Sean Dyche’s finance quip reveals Everton envy on return after Nottingham Forest defeat

Sean Dyche is still clearly fuming that Everton have improved financially since he departed from Merseyside.

Everton beat Dyche’s Nottingham Forest 3-0 on Saturday as the Hill Dickinson Stadium roared the Toffees on for a fourth win in five games.

David Moyes hasn’t shied away from his ambition of reaching Europe with the Blues in his post-match comments, and everything is starting to align for a successful season.

Thierno Barry finally broke his duck when he scored his first Everton goal against Forest, and both the Frenchman and Moyes deserve credit for persistence.

Dyche was handed his biggest defeat yet as Forest boss, and his anger showed through in his envious comments after the game.

Sean Dyche jealous that Everton escaped their financial troubles

Dyche was let go by Everton in January, at a time when it seemed like the decision was best for all parties under the Friedkin Group.

It’s fair to say that Everton struggled with finances during Dyche’s time at the club, and the 54-year-old openly admitted his frustration with a lack of signings when he was at the Blues.

However, it was no real excuse given what Moyes is now doing with the majority of players that Dyche once had.

Before commencing his post-match duties, the former Everton manager made a bitter remark to the media, alluding to the financial trouble that he had to endure while at the Toffees.

Dyche said: “Cor, they must get more money here now, you can get an extra drink with flavours, that will solve the financial trouble.

It’s not a good look for Dyche, but in reality, it’s anything but surprising to see him come out with something like this.

Dyche was the architect of his own downfall at Everton

Everton fans never took to Dyche because of his clear arrogance that was on show every time he spoke, despite his defensive, boring football.

The Englishman thought the world of himself and was never humble, even though he rarely backed anything up with good performances.

His Forest team were battered and deserved to concede three goals, if not more, and his anger is clear to see behind his jokey comments.

Everton are in a better place without Dyche at the helm, as Moyes can now sit back and enjoy more investment from the Friedkin Group, which is what he deserves and has earned.
