Friedkin Group told to concentrate at Everton in fresh Alan Myers transfer reveal

Alan Myers believes a new striker should be a priority for Everton, with multiple signings needed in the winter transfer window.

The former Sky Sports journalist wants The Friedkin Group (TFG) to take the initiative in January as fans hope for something special this season.

David Moyes got the better of Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche on 6 December, and the Toffees find themselves sixth in the Premier League.

While Thierno Barry finally scored at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the 3-0 win against the Tricky Trees, reinforcements up front may still be required in the coming weeks.

Everton also need new right-back and central midfielder in January

While the addition of a new number nine should be at the top of the Toffees’ agenda, the defence and midfield also need more depth, Myers says.

With the mood around L4 joyous as the Blues look to qualify for Europe this season, the American owners must ensure Moyes has the best chance of achieving his goals at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

With Jake O’Brien playing out of position and Idrissa Gueye set to travel for the Africa Cup of Nations soon, the recruitment team arguably have a lot on their plate at the Merseyside outfit.

Myers wrote in Everton.News on 8 December: “I still believe another striker is a priority, then a right-back and a central midfielder after that. Going back to my initial point, let the fans enjoy the ride, but now is a time for focus and concentration for the powers that be more than ever.”

Beto’s performances under Moyes this season have been underwhelming, and with no other centre-forward as backup, it would definitely make sense for the Toffees to bolster their attack sooner rather than later.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and James Garner to ease multiple David Moyes concerns

Dewsbury-Hall has shown he can play in a deeper role in Gueye’s absence, which will certainly alleviate one of Moyes’ concerns.

James Garner has also thrived playing as a full-back on occasions at Everton, and the Scottish manager may be happy with his options for now.

There have also been suggestions from some that Iliman Ndiaye could potentially play as a number nine, and the Senegal international has shown he’s a reliable outlet up front.

It looks like the Blues already have several pieces of the puzzle at their disposal, but it still remains to be seen what they decide to do in January.
