Alan Shearer latest to join the party as Everton star rightly lauded after career-best moment
Alan Shearer has been mightily impressed by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s impact since arriving at Everton from Chelsea in the summer.
Everton paid Chelsea around £28million for Dewsbury-Hall in August, with that fee raising some eyebrows at the time.
However, Dewsbury-Hall has been excellent for Everton and has four goals in 14 Premier League matches for the Toffees.
Indeed, Dewsbury-Hall already boasts a career-best goals haul in the competition in a single season, despite the campaign not yet being halfway done.
And Shearer, who has heaped praise on Dewsbury-Hall previously, was impressed by what he saw from the midfielder against Nottingham Forest.
Alan Shearer hails Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s impact at Everton
Dewsbury-Hall has been widely praised by a number of pundits this week, in fact, with Troy Deeney pondering whether he is the signing of the season in the Premier League.
The BBC pundit certainly has a point, with a place in England’s squad for next summer’s World Cup now very much an achievable target for the former Leicester City ace.
Shearer picked Dewsbury-Hall in his Team of the Week for the Premier League’s website and added: “What an impact he is having this season.
“His rich vein of form continued with his fourth goal of the season in a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest to help Everton to a fourth win in six Premier League matches.”
Shearer is very much the latest to join the party in terms of waking up to the quality Dewsbury-Hall possesses.
Where does Dewsbury-Hall rank among Everton’s best players right now?
As per Sofascore‘s ratings, Dewsbury-Hall is now Everton‘s best performer this season across all competitions.
Dewsbury-Hall leads the way for goals and assists with six combined, while he also tops the charts for big chances created (five) and penalty area entries per game (6.33).

Not only is the 27-year-old scoring goals, he is also creating them and proving an all-round nuisance for opposition defences.
While Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye have been the focus of much attention this season -and rightly so – it is now Dewsbury-Hall who is standing out in front as Everton’s best performer.
All of a sudden, that near-£30m fee seems like a steal given what he has brought to Everton and the fact his best years, fingers crossed, are still ahead of him.
