Everton news round-up: Jack Grealish faces decision time, PGMOL to reach out after Nottingham Forest scenes

Everton are flying high in the Premier League and everything is looking up on the blue half of Merseyside at the moment.

David Moyes’ side have climbed to seventh in the table after cruising to a comfortable 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest last Saturday.

However, focus has already shifted towards the Toffees’ next game, as well as some potential moves in the January transfer market.

Here, Goodison News wraps up all the big stories that have come out of Hill Dickinson Stadium in the past 24 hours.

Everton aim to end 17-year hoodoo against Chelsea

Everton face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday as they look to continue their good form in the Premier League.

Moyes’ side have been especially impressive on their travels, grinding out a 1-0 win against Man United at Old Trafford before beating Bournemouth by the same scoreline on the south coast.

The Toffees have not won three away matches in a row without conceding a goal since December 2008, so will be looking to buck a 17-year-old trend in West London.

David Moyes has big decision to make on Harrison Armstrong

With the January transfer window closing in, Moyes has a decision to make on the future of Harrison Armstrong.

Armstrong is currently on loan at Preston North End in the Championship, but the Toffees have the option to recall the 18-year-old in the new year.

He has had a superb start to life in the second tier, and admitted earlier this week that he’d love to stay at Preston for the rest of the season.

However, Armstrong also conceded that the final decision is out of his hands and an early return to the Hill Dickinson is still a possibility.

Everton set for nervy Jack Grealish wait

Jack Grealish has been one of the signings of the season in the Premier League, with the Man City loanee rediscovering his spark on Merseyside.

However, with Moyes’ side yet to tie him down to a permanent deal, the England international could have a host of clubs lining up for him next summer.

Grealish has been urged to stick with Everton by former Toffees scout Bryan King, who believes that the winger can continue to thrive at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

It remains to be seen whether the former Aston Villa star shows loyalty or is tempted by another offer, but he has been told to make a decision on his future soon.

James Tarkowski set to avoid Nottingham Forest punishment

In Everton’s win over Nottingham Forest, James Tarkowski went barging into the back of Dan Ndoye in the opening exchanges, but avoided a caution.

Sean Dyche highlighted the incident after the game, and the Tricky Trees have now written to the PGMOL.

According to former referee Mark Clattenburg, the PGMOL may reach out to Forest to explain the decision, but are not expected to take any retrospective action against Tarkowski.
