Peter Crouch tips Everton to equal eye-wateringly bad club record this weekend

Peter Crouch has predicted that Everton will taste defeat against Chelsea on Saturday.

Everton have a dismal record at Stamford Bridge, but David Moyes‘ side will be confident after recording four wins in their last five matches.

However, Everton will be hoping to continue their impressive away form but Crouch believes that they will suffer a loss on 13 December.

Speaking on That Peter Crouch Podcast on 10 December, he said: “I don’t see them getting anything from this. I’m gonna go with Chelsea 2-0.”

What unwanted record can Everton equal against Chelsea?

In predicting the defeat, Crouch ultimately believes that Everton will equal an unwanted record against the Club World Cup winners.

As per Opta, the Blues have failed to score in 27 Premier League matches against Chelsea, and they have only blanked more against Liverpool and Manchester United, both 28 times.

If they do what Crouch has said, and lose 2-0, then they will match that eye-watering record.

Why Everton will believe that they can beat Chelsea

The Toffees’ recent run will give them confidence heading into the clash against Enzo Maresca’s side, as they have been formidable lately.

The Blues have recorded 1-0 wins against Manchester United and Bournemouth in their last two away matches, and would equal a different record if they manage to win and keep a clean sheet against the Londoners.

They will be buoyed by the fact that the opposition are without the likes of Moises Caicedo, Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana.

The Blues have their own issues, with the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite, Merlin Rohl and Seamus Coleman expected to miss the contest.

The players that Moyes has left are good enough to get the job done, though, as they have proven in recent weeks, and he will believe that they can get one over on Chelsea.
