Tony Pulis in fantastic David Moyes admission after unexpected Everton record
Tony Pulis has hailed David Moyes for the work he’s done at Everton this season.
The Toffees sit seventh in the Premier League after beating Nottingham Forest at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on 6 December.
With the Blues saying goodbye to Goodison Park in the previous campaign, it was certainly important for them to get off on the right foot in their new era.
Moyes has handled the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium brilliantly, with the Merseyside outfit managing four wins and two draws in their eight league matches at home.

Everton have avoided blip at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Pulis seemingly expected the Toffees to struggle after leaving Goodison Park, but that hasn’t been the case.
The former Stoke City manager feels that teams that change stadiums often go through a rough patch, and Moyes’ ability to maintain stability at the Hill Dickinson Stadium is surely impressive.
With the Blues ahead of the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham when it comes to points won at home in the current campaign, the Scottish manager deserves all the praise.
Speaking on The Managers podcast on 9 December, Pulis said: “The great thing about Everton’s results this year, especially at home, it’s a new stadium. And when you get teams going into new stadiums, sometimes there’s a bit of a blip in terms of results. He’s done a fantastic job.”
Moyes now has to contend with an away trip to Chelsea on 13 December as the Merseyside outfit look to solidify their place in the top half of the table.
The Hill Dickinson Stadium will then host Arsenal on 20 December, and the Scottish manager has an opportunity to make a massive statement in the next two games.
Premier League home and away record analysed under David Moyes this season
The Friedkin Group should look to back Moyes in January, with the Toffees arguably still in need of a few more quality transfers.
Everton haven’t been perfect in the Premier League by any means, winning just three of their first ten matches.
| Venue | Matches | Wins | Draws | Losses | Goals for – Goals against |
| Home | 8 | 4 | 2 | 2 | 11 – 9 |
| Away | 7 | 3 | 1 | 3 | 7 – 8 |
The Blues have lost three of their seven away league matches this campaign, and that’s something they definitely need to improve on.
With a goal difference of +2 at home and -1 away, the Merseyside outfit clearly have to address their goalscoring issue, as well as their defensive structure, both of which are key to taking them further up the table.
