Jordan Pickford’s importance made clear after achieving matching Premier League record for Everton
Jordan Pickford continues to exceed expectations for Everton under David Moyes.
Pickford has earned high praise over the years for single-handedly keeping the Toffees in the Premier League on multiple occasions.
His impact at Everton has been monumental, and his influence on the club has seen him emerge as one of the best goalkeepers in the top flight.
Despite Everton’s 2-0 loss to Chelsea on Saturday, they have enjoyed a brilliant start to the campaign, and they sit eighth in the table, with Pickford excelling in particular.
He has been hugely important to their impressive form, and recently won the Premier League Save of the Month award after the 1-0 win over Manchester United.

Pickford is a cult-hero at Everton, having been at the club since 2017 following a £30m move from Sunderland.
With Everton leading Man United 1-0 despite having 10 men, Joshua Zirzkee’s goalbound header was somehow kept out by the outstretched right arm of Pickford.
On 12 December, it was announced that he had won the November Save of the Month award.
With stats via Opta, he has now won the award three times, the joint-most of any player in the competition since the award’s inception in 2022-23.
That highlights his improvement since joining the Toffees, and he has matured brilliantly with age and experience for both club and country.
This season, Pickford has acted as a sweeper-keeper 20 times, ranking in the 100th percentile, with no goalkeeper topping that figure.
He has also completed 137 long balls, the most of any goalkeeper in the Premier League in 2025-26.

The 31-year-old shot-stopper came third in the Golden Glove award despite Everton’s 13th-placed finish last season, and he looks in even better form ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Pickford made England history against Wales on 9 October by surpassing Gordon Banks and becoming the first Three Lions goalkeeper to keep eight consecutive clean sheets.
Having been the regular number one since the 2018 World Cup, the 31-year-old has 81 caps for the Three Lions.
Additionally, Pickford is 22nd on the all-time Everton appearance list, yet he is rapidly progressing up the list.
The shot-stopper is aiming to break his Premier League record of 14 clean sheets that was set in 2018-19, and with six on the board already, there is great hope that he can create some personal history under Moyes this season.
What’s certain is that both Everton and England are in safe hands with Pickford in the team.
