Everton concern emerges after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall injury news
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will surely be a massive absence for Everton after picking up an injury against Chelsea on Saturday, Michael Ball says.
The midfielder had to be substituted after 16 minutes in the Premier League, in what fans will hope isn’t a serious fitness issue, as David Moyes’ team lost 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on 12 December.
Dewsbury-Hall has been a revelation at the Hill Dickinson Stadium after his underwhelming spell at Stamford Bridge.
The Merseyside outfit have some critical fixtures coming up before the turn of the year, and it remains to be seen whether the English midfielder will be available for them.

David Moyes hit with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall blow
Ball was concerned to see Dewsbury-Hall’s premature departure at Stamford Bridge.
The ex-Toffees left-back believes the 27-year-old’s potential absence will surely have an effect at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
In the 2025-26 season, the midfielder has scored four goals and provided three assists in 15 Premier League matches for the Merseysiders.
Ball wrote in the Liverpool Echo on 16 December: “Watching Dewsbury-Hall go off was a real concern, and if he misses any part of the upcoming schedule, it will be a blow, particularly given the influence he has had on the team over the past six weeks.”
With Idrissa Gueye off to the Africa Cup of Nations, the former Chelsea star’s possible fitness issue couldn’t have come at a worse time.
Moyes will hope the likes of Carlos Alcaraz and Tim Iroegbunam can adequately support James Garner in the engine room for the foreseeable future.
David Moyes admission about Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall injury not encouraging
Dewsbury-Hall has arguably become irreplaceable under Moyes, and it will be interesting to see how the Scottish manager will cope without him.
Speaking after the loss at Stamford Bridge, the Everton boss said: “Dewsbury-Hall had a bit of tightness already, and then he felt in during the game.”
| Players | Matches played | Goals |
| Iliman Ndiaye | 16 | 4 |
| Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall | 15 | 4 |
| Michael Keane | 15 | 2 |
| Jack Grealish | 15 | 2 |
| Idrissa Gueye | 13 | 2 |
Depending on the severity of the knock, the ex-Leicester City star could potentially be out for a week to several months, and supporters in L4 will hope it’s the former.
It feels like there were already some doubts about the midfielder’s fitness before the Chelsea game, and in hindsight, it would’ve arguably been better not to play him.
