Everton have scouted European club’s 25-26 matches more than anyone else in the world

Everton are looking to take advantage of the Danish market ahead of the January transfer window.

Everton are going to be nowhere near relegation this season, but how high up the table they finish is likely to be determined by how they deal in January.

Given the struggles of Beto and at times of Thierno Barry, the Toffees need to sign a striker, with David Moyes almost certainly going to be on the lookout to see where else his side can strengthen.

The Merseysiders have already been linked with several players from around Europe, and it seems as though they will have a heavy focus on Danish talent.

Everton evidently keen on at least one FC Midtjylland star

A report from Indkast states that the Toffees have had scouts present for eight of FC Midtjylland’s games this season, which is by far the most of any European club.

Bayern Munich scouts have been in attendance for four, while Championship outfit Middlesbrough are the next most prominent English side.

Ole Nielsen is a scout of Danish heritage at Everton, and it’s clear that he wants to use his links to their advantage when it comes to transfers.

In total, 52 different European clubs have attended a game involving FC Midtjylland, showcasing the talent they have on offer.

However, when it comes to who Everton could be looking at, there is a clear standout, and it’s a deal that would make a lot of sense.

Franculino to Everton could be on the cards

Everton have been linked with a move for Franculino over the last few weeks, and he is likely the main star that clubs are looking at.

The 21-year-old has found the net a remarkable 21 times for FC Midtjylland this season across all competitions, with three assists to his name as well.

Franculino’s stats this season

Only recently, Franculino scored in eight consecutive games, which is something that the Toffees have lacked for years.

It’s clear that they need a prolific striker in January, and he may prove to be the ideal candidate.
