James Garner will be furious after the latest Premier League announcement ahead of Everton vs Arsenal
The Premier League has announced that Sam Barrott will referee Everton’s upcoming match against Arsenal.
The official has proven to be a controversial figure in Merseyside this season for his decisions against the Toffees.
Earlier this campaign, Barrott controversially booked Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall against West Ham.
Barrott was later slammed for this decision at the Hill Dickinson Stadium as the Everton midfielder was subsequently suspended for one match.
Now, James Garner will be hoping to avoid a similar scenario on Saturday.

James Garner will be aiming to avoid a booking against Arsenal
Going into the match, Garner is one yellow card off a suspension.
The midfielder has picked up four bookings to date in the Premier League, and now just has to avoid one for the next three matches.
However, Garner is likely to be furious with the Premier League’s announcement on 15 December, with Barrott clearly prone to dishing out soft yellow cards.

Therefore, the 24-year-old will have to be careful if he is to avoid the same fate as Dewsbury-Hall earlier this season.
Sam Barrott’s record his season explained
According to WhoScored on 15 December, Barrott has been consistently showing yellow cards in all of his matches this season.
In all competitions, he has officiated 11 matches and is averaging four yellow cards a game.
The most he has dished out in a match this season came in Everton’s draw against West Ham, with seven bookings being produced throughout.

However, Barrott is more lenient when it comes to red cards, with the referee only producing one this season.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen how the referee chooses to officiate the upcoming Premier League tie between Everton and Arsenal.
