Thierno Barry to hang his head in shame after new Everton supercomputer reveal
Thierno Barry was unable to get on the end of a huge chance for Everton to equalise against Chelsea on Saturday.
Everton were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a game where David Moyes will be scratching his head watching it back.
Malo Gusto put the hosts 1-0 up in the first half before Barry missed a glaring opportunity to tap into an empty net, minutes before Cole Palmer scored a second for Chelsea.
Everton are hopeful of achieving their European dream under Moyes, but Opta‘s supercomputer is now suggesting that Barry’s miss could come back to haunt the Toffees.

Everton fail to leapfrog rivals in European football chances
If Barry had scored, Everton would have most likely gone into the break level with Chelsea at 1-1, but instead a 2-0 deficit meant the Toffees were fighting an uphill battle in the second half.
The Opta Analyst has predicted that Moyes’ side has 6.15 per cent of qualifying for Europe, as Brighton and Newcastle are expected to finish above Everton.
This will come as a real disappointment given the fact that Brighton and Newcastle both lost their games this weekend.
- Everton have been predicted to finish 10th in the Premier League
- Opta have estimated that the Toffees will finish on 52 points
- Everton are still ahead of Newcastle and Brighton in the official Premier League standings
Either way, it still feels like Everton are being heavily underestimated at the moment, and Moyes won’t mind being in the background for talk of European football.

The 62-year-old is doing what he can with the players he currently has to utilise, but with each passing game, it becomes clearer what needs to be done in January.
Everton need to use all their budget on a striker, this is why
Everton has a perfect spine for their team. The defence is solid and does the job nine times out of 10, same as the midfield.
The quality of Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye on the wings cannot be any better, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been a revelation of a signing.
Beto and Barry have understandably had their critics, and while the latter has been improving in recent games, the Chelsea match was a reminder of the young man’s true ability.
Everton have money to spend in January, and supporters better hope that the internals have done their homework on bringing a top striker to the Hill Dickinson Stadium – otherwise the Toffees can kiss goodbye to European football.
