David Moyes to adjust at Everton after message posted by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
David Moyes will have to adapt his plans at Everton after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall confirmed his injury layoff on social media.
Dewsbury-Hall was substituted by Moyes with 16 minutes played of Everton’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea last weekend.
That defeat at Stamford Bridge was disappointing, but any sort of layoff for Dewsbury-Hall would have been harder to take for Everton fans.
The 27-year-old has now taken to Instagram to post a seven-message update of sorts to supporters.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall vows to be back ‘soon’
Dewsbury-Hall has been widely hailed at Everton this season for his performances in midfield, with the Englishman undoubtedly one of the first names on Moyes’ teamsheet.
The sight of Dewsbury-Hall sustaining a hamstring issue at Stamford Bridge was therefore a massive blow for Moyes.
Posting on his personal Instagram story on Thursday, the former Chelsea player vowed to return to action as quickly as possible.
“A little blip,” he said. “See you all soon.”
While the message did not exactly confirm any real length of absence, it all but confirms Dewsbury-Hall is set for a spell out.

Whether that be one game, two, a handful of more remains to be seen. Either way, his absence will be felt when Everton welcome Arsenal to Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday.
Everton potentially without top three players vs Arsenal
A visit of Premier League leaders Arsenal rounds off Everton’s home games for the year this weekend.
As well as being without Dewsbury-Hall, Everton are also without Iliman Ndiaye due to Africa Cup of Nations commitments.
| Player | Games | Goals | Assists |
| Iliman Ndiaye | 16 | 4 | 2 |
| Jack Grealish | 15 | 4 | 2 |
| Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall | 15 | 4 | 2 |
Those two players, as well as Jack Grealish, have been responsible for 18 of Everton’s goals between them in the Premier League this season – four goals each and a couple of assists.
Grealish is himself an injury doubt, so that could mean all three missing out against Arsenal. Moyes is no doubt working on a plan to adapt to those killer blows.
It is now very much down to the others to step up, then, and give Moyes something to think about when Dewsbury-Hall, Ndiaye and possibly Grealish are back in contention.
