Friedkin Group lean on Everton connections to strike ‘major’ deal
The Friedkin Group have worked wonders since officially taking over at Everton a year ago.
Friday marks the one-year anniversary of the Friedkins buying out Farhad Moshiri at Goodison Park.
Everton have been on far more stable ground ever since then, both on and off the field.
The Friedkins have made some important financial decisions, meaning threats of points deductions are now very much a thing of the past.
Everton fans are desperate to see the Friedkins make money available in the January window, but there are financial rules to abide by – as the Toffees know better than anyone.
But the Friedkins do not only have Everton to focus on, as they also own Serie A giants Roma, and the connections between the two clubs could now massively benefit the Americans.
Roma set to strike sponsorship agreement with Stake
Everton will soon cut ties with front-of-shirt sponsor Stake due to new Premier League regulations put in place.
According to Tele Radio Stereo, as per La Roma 24, Roma are now looking to strike an agreement with Stake to become their main sponsor.
This is described as a “major breakthrough” in Roma’s search to find a new partnership, with this deal potentially bringing millions of added revenue through the Stadio Olimpico doors.

The Friedkins are once again using their connections at both clubs to aid the other, but the two sides could potentially be on a collision course.
Friedkins must take action to avoid Everton and Roma headache
Roma are fourth in Serie A and heading to the knockout rounds of the Europa League.
Everton are themselves performing very well this season, with fans dreaming of European football at Hill Dickinson Stadium in 2026.
- The Friedkin Group bought Roma in 2020 and have an estimated worth of £4.8billion
- The Americans purchased a 98.8 per cent stake in Everton last December
- Due to owning stakes in two clubs, they cannot compete in same competition as things stand
Should Everton and Roma qualify for the same competition, however, one of them may be banned due to multi-club ownership rules.
The Friedkins have until 1 March to fill out relevant paperwork to ensure this is not an issue.
While Europe may seem a pipedream right now, there is no reason why supporters should not dream of what could be.
