Friedkin Group have proved they’re perfect for Everton after Hill Dickinson Stadium latest

Everton and the Friedkin Group feel like the perfect match at the moment.

Dan Friedkin and Co took over Everton just over a year ago, and they have already made several decisions that have set the club on the right path.

Everton’s cashflow issues have been solved by the Americans, and key figures have been appointed behind the scenes.

However, the latest Hill Dickinson Stadium gesture from the ownership is the biggest example yet that they get the club and its supporters.

Friedkin Group’s role in Everton fan display revealed

Everton supporters in the South Stand were part of a TIFO display, before the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on 21 December.

The fan display was organised by the 1878s supporters group, and was the tallest ever used by any set of fans in the Premier League.

Now, the ownership’s involvement in the display has been revealed after a statement was released by the group behind it.

Taking to X on 21 December, they said: “Over the past few months, we’ve had discussions with the club about installing a Tifo machine in the south stand.

“Due to the size of the stand, this machine could not be a permanent fixture. Our flag last night was the tallest Tifo ever used in the Premier League, which requires a specially trained team to pull it up manually.

“This costs tens of thousands of pounds each time, and we didn’t have sufficient funds to complete it before the year ended.

“After meetings with the engagement team and one with CEO Angus Kinnear, the club learned how much our fans and the group wanted to see this type of display at our new home.

“With support from the club’s owners, TFG helped bridge the gap, enabling us to deliver our first display successfully at the final home game of 2025.

Friedkin’s help proves that they are the right owners for Everton

The fact that the Friedkins helped to get it sorted, with the supporters seemingly set to come up short with their attempts to fund it, is a huge sign in the right direction.

The fact they have sorted the off-field issues, in terms of finances certaintly helps, but it is gestures like the TIFO one, that will truly have Everton fans believing in them and what they can bring to the club in the long-term.

Their part in the recent display will only help their standing among the fanbase, as it shows that they understand the demands that come with custodianship of the Toffees.

It is certainly looking positive on the pitch, but the relationship with the fans will be an important measuring stick of how they are doing, and right now, they are getting it right, with every decision.

It is an encouraging sign for the future, and surely the only way is up for the Blues under their leadership if they continue the way that they are going.
