Everton vigilant as exit update drops on player used in every Premier League game by David Moyes
Everton will be looking to enhance the quality of their squad during the January transfer window after a good start to their Premier League season.
David Moyes‘ side currently sit 10th in the table, but are just five points adrift of fifth-placed Liverpool as the campaign nears its halfway point.
Everton were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal on Saturday evening, in a game that really highlighted what the Toffees are missing in their squad.
However, the Merseyside outfit will also be looking to offload some of their weaker players in order to bring in some new talent.

Everton wait to explore Beto swap deal
With the likes of Thierno Barry and Beto underperforming, Moyes is in need of a goalscoring striker in the January window.
Everton have been linked with Artem Dovbyk from Roma, with the Ukrainian centre-forward struggling for consistent starts in Italy.
Beto could be utilised as part of a swap-deal to sign Dovbyk, which would allow the Toffees to offload the Guinea-Bissau international and bring in a replacement for a cut-price.
It has previously been reported that Everton are ready to explore a swap deal with Roma that would see Beto leave.
Now, according to Monday’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport, Everton are “ever vigilant” with regards to a deal.
Dovbyk also has other admirers around Europe, so the Merseyside outfit may be forced into a race for his signature.
David Moyes has clear Everton problem
Everton spent a combined £55million to bring in Beto and Barry – the former signing in January 2024 and the latter last summer – but both are underwhelming massively this season, as highlighted by Sofascore data.

Beto has featured in every single Premier League game this term, but after failing to score since the 3-2 win over Wolves in August, he was dropped to the bench at the start of November.
| Stats (Premier League) | Thierno Barry | Beto |
| Appearances (Starts) | 17 (10) | 17 (7) |
| Goals | 1 | 1 |
| Assists | 0 | 0 |
| Big Chances missed | 6 | 5 |
Barry has looked slightly better since being introduced to the starting lineup by Moyes, but the Frenchman also only has one top-flight goal in 2025-26.
It’s clear that Everton have a chance of sneaking into a European place come the end of the season, but in order to do that they need a striker who can consistently find the back of the net.
