Jack Grealish set for new role at Everton as David Moyes looks for creative solution

David Moyes has surely got to make some unorthodox calls at Everton after losing to Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League.

Jack Grealish struggled at the Hill Dickinson Stadium against the Gunners on 20 December, as the Toffees lost 1-0.

Viktor Gyokeres scored a penalty after Jake O’Brien’s handball, with the Blues unable to get into the game after conceding in the 27th minute.

The Merseyside outfit failed to have a shot at home in a league game for only the second time in 20 years against Mikel Arteta’s team, which should prompt an immediate change from the Scottish manager.

David Moyes has perfect number 10 in Jack Grealish at Everton

Grealish has been a standout player for the Toffees this season, but the lack of creativity is evident amid the absence of Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

The Senegal international is off to the Africa Cup of Nations, and considering his team are one of the favourites to win the tournament, the forward may not return until the end of January.

As for the former Chelsea midfielder, he picked up a hamstring injury at Stamford Bridge, and it remains to be seen how long the Englishman will be out for.

Grealish has been a game-changing signing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with almost every fan in L4 desperate for him to sign permanently after his loan spell from Manchester City.

The Blues were devoid of any threat against Arsenal, registering an xG of 0.2 and creating zero big chances at home, as per Sofascore.

Moyes can possibly give Grealish the freedom in the number 10 role, with Tyler Dibling on the right and Dwight McNeil on the left.

David Moyes should demand January transfers as Premier League prediction to disappoint

Moyes is hoping to finish in a European place in the Premier League, but that may not be a realistic goal right now.

Everton don’t have the best of squad depth, with Ndiaye, Idrissa Gueye and Dewsbury-Hall’s unavailability hitting them hard at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Toffees also lack a reliable goalscorer, with Thierno Barry and Beto scoring a combined two league goals this season.

Opta’s supercomputer predicts the Merseyside outfit to finish 11th in the Premier League with around 51 points, and right now, fans in L4 will undoubtedly feel that would be an accurate reflection of the campaign they’ve had so far.
