Sky Sports name two players David Moyes likes in Everton transfer latest today

Everton already have plans in place ahead of the January transfer window.

The Toffees have had an up-and-down season to this point, with Everton’s 1-0 defeat against Arsenal leaving them 10th in the Premier League.

Everton are on the lookout for new signings and are remaining vigilant for opportunities as the winter market edges closer.

With the likes of Iliman Ndiaye away at AFCON, there is a need for reinforcements as the squad depth is pushed to the max at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

David Moyes has now shown a liking for two potential transfer targets who could move to Merseyside in the coming weeks.

David Moyes wants midfield reinforcements at Everton

Idrissa Gueye has been a regular for Everton this season, but with the Senegal international also away at AFCON, there is a hole in the squad right now.

Despite being 36 years old, the ex-PSG man has started 13 league games already and will be missed while away in Morocco.

The midfielder’s absence could be the catalyst for the Toffees to bring in alternative options to enhance their squad for the second half of the campaign.

Sky Sports have reported that a central option is wanted in January, either on a permanent deal or on loan, to cover for Gueye’s absence.

Moyes wants additions with Premier League experience, with Kobbie Mainoo and Kalvin Phillips already eyed by Everton due to their top-level know-how.

Both have been shutout at Manchester United and City respectively and may be keen on winter moves themselves.

Kalvin Phillips could follow Jack Grealish example at Everton

The ex-England international has seriously struggled ever since joining Manchester City due to his lack of game time under Pep Guardiola.

That was a similar story for Jack Grealish in the summer, who had fallen to a bit-part player with the Citizens last season.

The 30-year-old has gone on to thrive on Merseyside, something which could act as a perfect example for Phillips moving into the January window.

Signing the midfielder may be seen as a risk for the Toffees, but Moyes has already proven how he can help get the best out of top players who have become outcasts elsewhere.
