David Moyes has perfect solution for Everton worry after Nathan Ake transfer development
Everton can’t let the chance to sign Manchester City defender Nathan Ake slip again in the winter transfer window.
The six-time Premier League winner at Chelsea and the Etihad Stadium has been a bit-part player for Pep Guardiola this season.
Ake was being linked with a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the summer, but the Toffees didn’t end up signing him.
The Friedkin Group aren’t planning a busy transfer window for David Moyes, but the American owners may have to change their mind after multiple injuries in the squad.
Nathan Ake could be key for Everton in Jarrad Branthwaite absence
Ake’s future at Man City is uncertain after falling down the pecking order, according to talkSPORT.
The news outlet reports on 23 December that the likes of Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are considering making a move for the Netherlands international.
While the Toffees haven’t been mentioned, they recently had the 30-year-old on their radar at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and it would make sense for them to put their hat in the race for his signature.
In the Blues’ pre-Burnley press conference, Moyes admitted that Jarrad Branthwaite is still a long way out from returning to action.

The Scottish manager said, “Jarrad is getting closer to the grass now. We’re hoping maybe to get him by the end of the month, but it might be a bit longer than that. He’s not due to integrate back in for at least another two to three weeks, maybe more, so as if I’m getting him back quickly.
“But I think my bigger worry is he’s missed so much of the season to get back into the swing of it quickly.”
David Moyes has another transfer priority at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Thierno Barry and Beto have failed to be reliable goalscorers this season, making the addition of a new number nine an evident priority for the Toffees.
Everton have scored fewer goals than West Ham United and Burnley this season, underscoring the need for a quality striker in L4.
| Player | Matches played | Goals |
| Iliman Ndiaye | 18 | 4 |
| Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall | 16 | 4 |
| Beto | 19 | 2 |
| Jack Grealish | 18 | 2 |
| Michael Keane | 18 | 2 |
| Idrissa Gueye | 13 | 2 |
If the Merseyside outfit truly want to compete for a European spot in the Premier League, TFG must look to invest in a quality centre-forward.
As things stand, it doesn’t look like the American owners have any intention of spending big in the winter transfer window, whether it be on Ake or a new striker.
