David Moyes speaks out on Dwight McNeil’s Everton future after exit rumours emerge
Everton boss David Moyes has provided some clarity on the future of Dwight McNeil ahead of the January transfer window.
McNeil has been linked with a move away from Everton in the past 24 hours, with Nottingham Forest reportedly interested in the winger.
The 26-year-old has struggled for minutes on Merseyside this season, starting his first Premier League game of the campaign on Saturday in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.
With rumours circulating about McNeil’s potential exit, Moyes has now spoken out about the situation.

David Moyes quashes Dwight McNeil exit talk
Everton face Burnley in the Premier League on 27 December at Turf Moor, as they look to get back to winning ways.
The Toffees have lost their last two games, against Arsenal and Chelsea, but still sit 10th in the table, just five points behind fifth-placed Liverpool.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Burnley clash, Moyes revealed that there is no plan to sell McNeil in the January window.
Moyes said: “I don’t know where that’s come from because as the manager of the football club, I’ve not heard any of that. There’s no plan for that, no.
“I don’t want to lose anybody. If we did, then we would probably have to add.”
McNeil could be in line for another start against Burnley, with Iliman Ndiaye away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Everton have clear problem emerging after Dwight McNeil news
With Moyes confirming that Everton are keen to keep hold of McNeil going into the January transfer window, it’s clear that the former West Ham boss is worried about the depth of his current squad.
The Toffees were without Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall against Arsenal, and struggled to create any real chances with their replacements failing to deliver.
McNeil proved against Arsenal that he is a level below what Everton need, and the Merseyside outfit would likely be looking to move him on if they had other options available.
However, given their current situation, Moyes’ side would be incredibly light in attacking areas if they sold anyone.
It seems that McNeil will be staying at the Hill Dickinson Stadium until the end of the season, and Everton will wait until the summer to try and find an upgrade.
