Beto exit surprise as Everton ace now wanted by fellow Premier League club

Everton star Beto is a target for a Premier League club in the winter transfer window.

Beto has been linked with an Everton exit, with a potential swap deal with Roma for Artem Dobryk reportedly being explored.

However, the striker, who has been used in every league game this season by David Moyes, could end up against the Blues in domestic action.

The Guinea-Bissau forward has notched just one goal for the Toffees, so the fact that another club wants to sign him may come as a surprise.

Which Premier League club want to sign Beto?

Moyes’ former club, West Ham, have been named as the club that wants to sign Beto when the window reopens in January.

Alex Crook revealed the news live on air, with the Hammers desperate to sign a new number nine to get them out of relegation danger, with Niclas Fullkrug seemingly set to depart for AC Milan.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 24 December, he said: “The other name, again not inspiring, because he never scores a goal, Beto at Everton.”

Why Everton should let Beto leave

Beto enjoyed a mini-resurgence when Moyes came in at Everton last season, notching eight goals before the end of the campaign.

However, he has reverted back to type this season, with just one strike in the 17 league matches that he has featured in, which is simply not good enough.

The Blues need an experienced striker to help ease the burden off new signing Thierno Barry, and the 27-year-old is not the answer.

Moyes should sanction a departure for the underperforming attacker and use the funds to bring in a new option that can surely not perform any worse than Beto has.

The striker has been nothing short of a flop for the majority of his time on Merseyside, besides that small purple patch when the Scotsman first came back to L4.

He is not the man to fire the Toffees into Europe, and they need to move on, especially if the offer is a big one, and allows them to reinvest significant funds into a new number nine.

The Irons are not going to threaten the Blues anytime soon, as they are in relegation danger, so selling to them is not a big deal.
