Everton already set for internal discussions about this David Moyes summer signing

Everton’s latest crop of summer signings have had a mixed start to life at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have both been immense since joining from Manchester City and Chelsea respectively, but others haven’t fared quite so well.

Thierno Barry has struggled badly at Everton following his move from Villarreal, despite some flashes of quality, and has scored just once for the Toffees so far.

Now, the hierarchy are considering the future of another one of their summer signings after his underwhelming start to life on Merseyside.

Everton discuss loan move for Adam Aznou

Everton signed Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich over the summer, for a reported fee of £8million, but the left-back has struggled for minutes since his arrival.

Aznou is yet to play a single minute for the senior side, despite spending much of the season on the bench, and has instead been confined to the Under-21s.

The Toffees have been working hard with Aznou to improve his physicality and raise it to the level needed for the Premier League.

According to The Athletic, there will be internal discussions within Everton around the short-term future of the 19-year-old and whether a loan move will be sanctioned in the January window.

The current feeling is that unless a club that would further Aznou’s development comes in with an offer, the former Bayern Munich man will be staying at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton target January signing to fill problem position

As well as considering loaning out a left-back, Everton are also exploring the option of bringing in a right-back temporarily.

The Toffees are extremely short in that area, after a recent injury to club captain Seamus Coleman, and David Moyes has been forced to utilise Jake O’Brien out of position for the majority of the season.

Everton are wary of making permanent signings in the January transfer window, with their data department adamant that summer incomings are more likely to succeed.

Therefore, the Merseyside outfit may opt to sign a right-back on a short-term loan deal, which would fill the current void in Moyes‘ squad while negating any risk if the signing doesn’t perform.

Either way, not much may change over the next month, regardless of how much it’s needed.
