Everton now know what to do after Conor Gallagher transfer update

Conor Gallagher has been linked with a move to Everton ahead of the January window.

Everton will no doubt be looking to make the most of the January transfer window, with incomings and outgoings expected at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Signing a striker is likely to be a priority for the Toffees, while adding reinforcements in other areas of the pitch will also be considered.

In regard to those other positions, Gallagher has been linked with a move to Everton, and they are now aware of what they need to do to bring him back to the Premier League.

Atletico Madrid set pricetag for Gallagher

Gallagher had time at Chelsea and Crystal Palace before making a move to La Liga, where he has since become a bit-part player at Atletico Madrid.

The 25-year-old has started just four of their league fixtures so far this season, with 620 minutes played over 18 La Liga appearances.

As a result of his fall down the pecking order, a move could be on the cards in January, with a report from Fichajes stating that the Spanish giants will begin negotiations around the £26million mark.

For a player of his quality and experience of Premier League football, a fee in that region is more than reasonable.

With James Garner linked with a move to Man United, Everton may have to have succession plans in place, and the signing of Gallagher would be a perfect one.

What is the latest on Garner’s proposed move to Man United?

Not only is Garner a starting midfielder at Everton, but he’s also capable of filling in at right-back, like he has done on several occasions this season.

That is arguably one thing he has over Gallagher, but with Garner out of contract in six months, his future is still unknown.

Everton are still locked in contract talks with the midfielder, and they are said to be keen on finalising the talks before the transfer window opens on 1 January.

Whether a positive outcome can be reached remains to be seen.
