Jack Grealish talked up for shock Man United transfer after events at Everton
Joleon Lescott believes Jack Grealish would be a great fit for Manchester United once his loan move at Everton comes to an end.
Grealish is seemingly not wanted by Manchester City, despite starring on loan at Everton in the first half of the season.
The England international has four goals and two assists for Everton in 16 Premier League appearances, helping to get his career right back on track.
Everton will no doubt look to sign Grealish permanently in the summer, but it will effectively come down to whoever is willing to pay the most.
And in the view of former Everton centre-back Lescott, Old Trafford would make sense as Grealish‘s next destination – albeit it seems incredibly unlikely to happen.
Jack Grealish to Manchester United ‘would be great’
Manchester rivals United and City hate each other, of course, and are therefore reluctant to ever do business with one another.
Asked if he could see Grealish at United after impressing at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Lescott said on The Mixer: “He would be an option for United on the left.
“I don’t see it happening, but from a footballing point of view it would be great. Jack would get a certain level of freedom there.
“I think about his style of play and the way United play, and the formation. It’d make a lot of sense. I don’t think he is going back to city.
| Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes played |
| Premier League | 16 | 2 | 4 | 1,344 |
“From my experience, when your parent club gives away your shirt number, you don’t go back. He’s not going to wear the no.18. He’s either no. 10 or he’s not going back, so I assume he’s not going back to City.”

David Moyes has already said he would love to sign Grealish permanently, but Everton’s finances will have a big say in whether that is possible or not.
One major obstacle in way of Grealish to Everton permanent transfer
The Friedkin Group continue to make Everton financially stable, but that is not to say everything is completely rosy off the field.
TFG can only spend what the Premier League price cap allows them to, meaning incoming activity in January is going to be tough.
That is also likely to be the case next summer, making outgoings all the more important over the next eight months or so.
Every single Everton fan would love Grealish to stay beyond this season – and indeed the player himself, you’d imagine – but it all comes down to finances.
And unfortunately for Everton, it is unlikely they will be able to pay what certain other clubs are for Grealish’s signature.
